BUILDING CHAMPIONS - A recovery/support group for those who wish to overcome addictions, those struggling with anger and depression, those who love or live with an addict and anyone facing mountains in life which they would like to climb over and see the other side. This group will be designed to band together and help each other overcome life’s challenges and rise victorious!
Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 PM Location – Clear Concepts property, in the trailer behind the building 24 N Main St, Lewistown, PA. Enter through the fenced gate at the back of the building This is a new kind of recovery group by the Barrville Mennonite Church. It is faith based, as we believe a dynamic relationship with Jesus is at the heart of recovery, healing and living a victorious life. ***All are welcome*** For More Information: Pastor Carl Geissinger (570)765-3923 Carl is the pastor at the Barrville Mennonite Church and the director of Yokefellowship Prison Ministry MIchele Mackenzie – [email protected] ***Come and find a different kind of love*** Adult Sunday School We have two adult Sunday School classes. One studies the uniform Sunday School lesson and the other does a book study on matters pertinent to our Christian faith. Children's Sunday School & Church We have several children's classes. The Children's Sunday School program is coordinated by Kim Korbich, a young woman with a heart for God and a heart for children. Children are invited to worship services and are dismissed for Children's Church after the singing and scripture reading. On the last Sunday in each month, they remain in the sanctuary for the worship service. Youth Sunday School We have been without youth in our Sunday School program for a time, but are in the process of bringing back a youth Sunday School class. Interested youth are encouraged to talk to Pastor Carl at the contact information on the site. Youth Night: Exploring God Bible Study - For Jr. High and High School youth on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:00 PM at the home of our pastor and his wife, Carl and Sherri Geissinger. Youth in grades 6-12 are invited for an evening of activities and fellowship. Contact Pastor Carl. Monthly Special Offering Other Ministries Rosedale Mennonite Missions - In relation to our new conference affiliation with Conservative Mennonite Conference, we are now affiliated with Rosedale Mennonite Missions (RMM). There are various pieces of literature on the big table in the foyer from RMM. Please help yourself to this literature and take the opportunity to get acquainted with RMM. One of the stacks is prayer cards for the missionaries connected to RMM; please help yourself to these prayer cards for the missionary. RMM is also looking for intercessors and there is literature in that regard. There's also a prayer directory that lists each of the workers connected to RMM. Operation Christmas Child Each year we participate in the collection of shoe boxes filled with toys and school supplies as part of the Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child". In 2022 we prepared and sent 51 of the _____ boxes from Mifflin, Centre & Juniata Counties and part of the ---- that were sent worldwide. What a great representation of our church! All of our boxes this year went to Mexico. In past years, our boxes have gone to the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Malawi Ukraine and several other countries. Each box is a gospel opportunity for a child and their family to learn about God.
